New version of a paper, "The Impact of Elections on Civic Attitudes: Causal Evidence from Kazakhstan’s Staggered Local Elections," with @mhigashi.bsky.social and Gento Kato is now available! We find that elections may not enhance civic political engagement.

As someone educated outside the elite doctoral programs, EITM was huge for me.
