Went to the #Schammer this morning, stayed there half the day, made a new photography/birding buddy we waited for a kingfisher that didn't show itself.
But I took a few great shots of other birds, the #Siskin is a new lifer for the list!

Got lucky seeing some more #firecrests. This was one of the better pics, still have to go through the rest, I also saw some long tailed tits, blue tits, great tits, robins and a great spotted woodpecker, photos to come.

If only I had my real camera with me when I walked through the #waterwingebied on my way home. Heron and Kingfisher right next to each other. (hard to spot, but in the reeds just to the right.) Guess this phone photo will be my only proof.

Great Egret (Ardea alba) that just caught a small fish. Barnacle goose (Branta leucopsis) in the grass between pruning sessions so its feathers are still a little puffy. Three Northern lapwings (Vanellus vanellus) in some shallow water. The iridescent green and purple on their wings comes out nicely in the sunlight. Three mute swans (Cygnus olor) flying low above the water.

"Which one of you insulted my brother?"

This #Cormorant was hopping the poles closer and closer to the #gulls until it chased them away, a very comical spectacle to witness and reminded me of that shot I took a little over 2 weeks ago.

Same field, 2 hours apart!
Fall migration is awesome; in early spring I was excited to have been able to see a single #NorthernLapwing, but last Friday there were fields full of them, hundreds or thousands all grouping up to head south soon.
