It's really important to understand that empathy is NOT convenient. It is NOT always comfortable, if ever. It is vital for discernment. It IS important, especially when someone vocalizes their pain. Lean into being curious and UNDERSTAND them before pointing a finger at them.

as I was driving home there were maybe 30-40 school kids on the corner holding their own anti-ICE demonstration! they held signs saying “Mexico”, “Abolish ICE”, “No one is illegal on stolen land”, etc.
