Where I’ll be for the entire evening (and a chunk of the morning)

Haven’t posted here in a while (Life’s hectic sometimes) but I did get a chance this week to hop on a podcast and talk about Banned Books and Library Advocacy. Would sincerely appreciate anyone listening and sharing to anyone you know who’s not aware of the current state of the fight for libraries.

Today is the Championship for the store’s Blood Bowl league, so I had to participate in a little trash talk:

Did not have “Date night show delayed 20 minutes by a bomb threat on I-85” on my 2025 Bingo card.

Part of 2025 for me is working through the literal mountain of books and other various media I’ve accumulated over the past few years.

Decided to start my reading off with this zine spread (alongside a book to make more zines!)

Last night while I was at work I received this amazing picture of Minerva being done with the world, and after a full Black Friday shift I agree with the sentiment.

Another 7-win deck, this format is gas.

Tried to find a Limited RCQ in the area for next weekend and didn’t have any luck, extremely sad because I just want to play more.

Cigar of the night

Fired off a couple early morning drafts, 2 7-win results (7-0 with GW, 7-2 with Mono-U). This format is super fun; I'm gonna have to make it to some FNMs this season.

Took tomorrow off on a whim, but after a full day of Black Friday prep I’m grateful to get an extra 24 hours to rest before the chaos that’s assuredly going to hit Friday.

Locked in for the best month ever at the store; now it’s time to run up the scoreboard.

‘Tis the season for Holiday Cards at work

One hobby I picked up since going on a bit of a social media break was Blood Bowl, which as a long-time football fan is a blast when the dice aren't frustrating to no end.

I'd say like 75% of my enjoyment comes from naming team though. Here's my current squad:

It’s always fun coming across “Played cards when sorting through collections for work. I like to imagine it was someone’s favorite card, or some long story of how it got to the well-loved state it’s in.

Like, how much damage do you think this Bolt has done in its lifetime?

There are entirely too many cool games out there right now for me to be able to devote the amount of time I’d like into each of them.

Honestly it’s a good problem to have, but it is frustrating missing out on what I think are some real killer experiences.

Played in our shop’s Azurite Sea Release event today and had a 3-0/6-0 run with this pretty sweet deck.

Would love to see some high-level Limited Events for Lorcana, they’re always a blast.

Making a first post on a new social media platform is an experience I haven’t had in years (and definitely not one I’ve had since getting more into the content side of things).

Anyway, sup? I’ll be jumping on this account a lot more often now, I’m back on the TCG grind so be prepared for that.
