Heres a strange unnamed robot-creature I drew a couple months ago. 🙂
I guess I liked the design so much that i decided to turn them into a rigged 3d model.
Big fan of how they turned out, learned a lot in the process.

Page 1 of wing studies Top left: A simple sketch of my chicken fursona from behind, one arm extended. On top of their arms, I drew wings based on references of real birds, attempting to figure out how wings would look on the character. Top right and middle right: A close-up of the hands for additional detail. Rather than having feathers for fingers, like some avian designs, this design uses claw hands that are separate from the wing. Flight feathers grow from the back of the hand, giving a velociraptor-like look. Bottom left: A larger, more dynamic illustration of my fursona, wing extended in front of them as if to cloak their body, showing off the flight feathers. Their claws appear dramatically over the wing, like an x-ray view, defying logic for the sake of style. Bottom right: A smaller, more dynamic illustration of my fursona. They are hunched over, one wing covering the body, showing off the full wing. Part 2 of wing studies Top left: An upper-body illustratation of my chicken fursona with detailed feathers. This version of the wing is based fully off of a chicken's wing, because I made the mistake of looking at random wings on the first page. I drew tail feathers accurate to real-life roosters, including the sickle feathers. Notably, they are missing the spur present in roosters; I wanted to include a mix of sexually dimorphic traits, but I would later decide that I want the opposite; i.e my fursona has spurs but not sickle tail feathers. Top right: A quick, dynamic draft sketch of a pose I would later end up illustrating with the intent to render the new feathers.
