Es claro que una sociedad consumista es insostenible: tiene un costo ambiental y para nuestra salud psicológica. Trabajamos vidas enteras para comprar juguetes y siempre estamos insatisfechos por los juguetes que no tenemos.
It’s clear that a consumer society is unsustainable. All this consumption comes at the cost of the environment. Beyond that, our psychological well-being is at stake. We spend lifetimes working so we can buy toys, and we’re soon dissatisfied because of the toys we don't have.

It’s clear that a consumer society is unsustainable. All this consumption comes at the cost of the environment. Beyond that, our psychological well-being is at stake. We spend lifetimes working so we can buy toys, and we’re soon dissatisfied because of the toys we don't have.

Even if you’re on a winning team, there's always a team that wins more often, raising everyone's expectations of what success is. The game leads everyone to dissatisfaction. Capitalism, purposefully fails to fulfill its promise of satisfaction through consumption, to keep us continuously consuming.

Even if you’re on a winning team, there's always a team that wins more often, raising everyone's expectations of what success is. The game leads everyone to dissatisfaction. Capitalism, purposefully fails to fulfill its promise of satisfaction through consumption, to keep us continuously consuming.

Expect the attainable, and if you work really hard, you'll reach your expectations and, if you’re lucky, surpass them. In modern societies, it's in this expectation profit—outcome minus expectation—where contentment lies. If the result is positive, you’re happy; if it's negative, you’re not.

Life is about managing expectations. One is to make do with what we have and not long for what is out of our reach. It’s the “harsh reality” method of managing expectations. Another is a more philosophical method: defining your own expectations based on an independent understanding of the world.

Life is about managing expectations. One is to make do with what we have and not long for what is out of our reach. It’s the “harsh reality” method of managing expectations. Another is a more philosophical method: defining your own expectations based on an independent understanding of the world.
If you follow people that are positive, social media is a completely different experience.

Hace poco abrieron un parque en mi barrio con un muro de escalada, instrumentos raros y n sistema de toboganes complejos con una cima de 11 metros. En una ciudad con crisis grave de vivienda, gastamos en toboganes premium en vez de construir casas.

Hace poco abrieron un parque en mi barrio con un muro de escalada, instrumentos raros y n sistema de toboganes complejos con una cima de 11 metros. En una ciudad con crisis grave de vivienda, gastamos en toboganes premium en vez de construir casas.
Not long ago, a park was opened in my city that has a climbing wall, quirky musical instruments, and a complex system of slides with an 11-meter summit. In a city with a severe housing shortage, we are spending our money and resources on building premium slides instead of homes.

Not long ago, a park was opened in my city that has a climbing wall, quirky musical instruments, and a complex system of slides with an 11-meter summit. In a city with a severe housing shortage, we are spending our money and resources on building premium slides instead of homes.
