For decades, women in #Sudan have raised the alarm about the violence they have experienced at the hands of paramilitary groups, only to be ignored. Now, women and girls are bearing the brunt of extreme violence and a collapse of protection mechanisms.

Pregnant and nursing women are being detained by ICE despite the known risks and in violation of DHS' own guidance.

As WRC’s US Director of Migrant Rights and Justice, Zain Lakhani, told @19thnews.org: “We are seeing just this shocking number of detained postpartum and pregnant women.”
