Hello readers, and welcome to another bookish lists post! One of my goals for 2026 is to re-read of my old favorites from time to time and take a break from keeping up with just new releases. Let's take a look at a few I'm hoping to get to this year!

Hello readers! February is usually a quiet month for my TBR, but it's a rather busy one this year, and I have three books I'm really looking forward to, including one from one of my favorite authors. Let's take a look!

Hello readers, and welcome to my January Wrap Up! Usually it feels like the first month of the year just flies by, but this year, it has been almost interminably long. Between multiple snow storms, a horribly busy couple of weeks at work and a cold to top it all off, it feels like I haven't had much downtime this month at all. However, I did make sure to keep steadily reading, if a bit slower than usual, as I'm really eager to build back up to my usual pace after the chaotic reading year I had in 2025. So far, I'm also keeping up with my goal to consistently read books from my backlist - I've made a backlist jar to add some more mystery to it. Let's take a look at my January!

In the land of Andalay, when someone turns 18, they receive a magical gift from the Fates if they are blessed. Everyone in Wren's family has received one, so when no gift turns up on her birthday, Wren is convinced there has been a mistake and sets out to find the truth. Damian is a thief who lives on the less prosperous side of town where blessings are unheard of - but for some reason, he received a gift last year which he has put to good use as a thief. Damian is hired to steal Wren's gift, a locket and upon opening it, he finds his own picture. Curious and unsure what to make of it, he agrees to help Wren when their paths cross with her still in the dark about what he did. But Wren's quest for her missing gift turns out to be much more than a simple theft and it takes them into the heart of a dark conspiracy where the lords of Andalay will do anything to keep their power.

Hello readers! Today, I have my Best of Shelf predictions for 2026! My list last year was all over the place - I didn't end up getting to many of them, and liked the few that I did less than I anticipated I would, but with the reading slump now behind me, I'm feeling optimistic about this year's predictions. This set of predictions is based on the list of new books for the year I have as of right now. My TBR for new releases from late summer onwards is rather sparse as there are few details available yet, so I've made do with the information on hand. Let's take a look at the titles I feel have the potential to be on my best of shelf this year!

Hunter Graves of the Graves family who built the first settlements on Mars arrives on the red planet with the plan of meeting his family - who have no idea he's there - when the United Nations base initiates an emergency evacuation. Except, since he's not supposed to be there, he gets left behind with no one the wiser. He's not quite alone however - Cleo stowed away to get to Mars with the aim of somehow making a life there and is determined to survive no matter what. But as it turns out, the evacuation was only a ruse for a bad of mercenaries who show up not long after and plan to blow up the base in 8 hours time. Hunter and Cleo are both hiding secrets of their own but they must must work together to stop the explosion and escape the base alive.

Angel City is controlled by two rival crime syndicates, Grand Central and Lumines. Unknown to most, these syndicates practice alchemy, an art that is hidden and carefully controlled, as is the much sought after alchemical drug sand, that enhances anyone who takes it into a more perfect version of themselves. The tension between the two groups has been high for years, but as childhood friends Ari and Sam grow up to find themselves on opposite sides of the brewing conflict, they must decide what they are willing to sacrifice to hold on to their power, if the loyalty they have sworn to their syndicates outweighs their friendship and if they can do what needs to be done to survive the war that is fast approaching.

Arvelle must figure out a way to survive the Sundering and complete her mission, all while hiding the strange powers she is developing that would certainly get her killed if anyone finds out.
