This year's #ScifiMonth read-along is Ancillary Justice by Ann Leckie. I'm excited to revisit the Imperial Radch - this week, we're discussing the first 6 chapters
Ancillary Justice: week one
This year, we're returning to Ann Leckie's much-awarded debut for our ScifiMonth read-along. The Justice of Toren is a Radchaai troop carrier, bringing her cargo of ancillaries - once-human soldiers, now mere bodies slaved to her consciousness - to its new conquests. Trouble is stirring at the empire's edges that will one day lead to sole ancillary leaving the Radch in search of a weapon that can kill its millennia-long leader Anaander Mianaai.

MY VERDICT:
More than a science fiction novel about a lunar catastrophe, The Hopkins Manuscript is a profound exploration of what makes us human—for better and for worse.

#NonficNov Choosing #nonfiction
No real plan except reading all of Mary Oliver's poetry right now. Otherwise, it's what I see at the library e.g. in GN nonfic, or interest of the moment (mushrooms, birds).
In 2026, hoping to listen to more nonfiction - see what's available from my TBR at my library

Was expecting more of the story, BUT stunning art. The author mixes floating buildings, impossible geometry, and futuristic and Victorian elements.
Parallel worlds in architecture drawings. Gorgeous and so relevant.
