The conference theme also encompasses issues such as the construction of identity, space, time, politics or society. It seeks to move beyond traditional academic spaces by fostering interdisciplinary dialogue, and acknowledging the role of multilingualism.

Once a year we take our @lancslinguistics.bsky.social MA students for a trip to the Lakes that involves a little hiking, a little climbing, a little caving and a little ice cream. Once again we were incredibly lucky with the weather and everyone had a great day out and a day off from dissertations.

They're cheating themselves out of actually learning and misrepresenting the authorship of the outputs they submit (which is, you know, cheating)
Most students are using AI to write, but not necessarily to cheat. They’re brainstorming, revising and thinking critically with tools like ChatGPT.

A writing professor says this isn’t a threat – it’s an opportunity, rather than a loss.
AI isn’t replacing student writing – but it is reshaping it
If AI allows students to automate routine cognitive tasks, it doesn’t mean they’re thinking less. It means their thinking is changing.

📌 A stunning mural of the Statue of Liberty covering her face was unveiled in Roubaix, France, on July 3, 2025.
