A new study shows that while ischemic heart disease mortality has declined across Europe, progress is slower for women. In many countries, women still face higher mortality largely due to modifiable risk factors.

A study of 175,000 adults found that lifestyle and health factors like diet, blood pressure, & activity have nearly double the impact on women’s heart disease risk compared to men.

Women with poor health had 5x higher risk vs. 2.5x in men.
