The only way that Volkov can win is by forcing Gane into a firefight where Gane loads up and instantly becomes way worse.
The heavy hands guys and jack slack have both pointed out that when Gane decides to actually sit down on his shots he becomes half the fighter he normally is.

I love how shavkat shelves his opponent's legs or underhooks one of them to hold himself over his opponent and keep their weight more on their shoulders than on their hips by elevating their legs.

It can affect your whole game. I feel better in southpaw because I’m more farsighted in my left eye than my right.
