Hi. I wear many hats and it's hard to keep track. Long story short, I sell tea and yarn, I build websites through a social enterprise I set up during COVID, I freelance in tech and comms, and I write words which people publish. I have a croft with cows and sheep, and I live with bipolar disorder. 🧵
As resilient as a chocolate poker. That's the conclusion I've reached about the digital rollout for the Highlands and Islands.

'We need sustainable, community-driven solutions that put islanders first. That means investing properly in infrastructure - bins, public toilets, waste facilities' ✏️

I bought stress relief bubble bath, but it smells like toilet cleaner and now I'm in the bath stressing about how much I need to clean.

It appears that I am now the personal assistant to a world famous wonky lamb. It's been quite the week! 😂👇

This is a new one for me. The most ridiculous pair of twins you ever did see, and a rather wonky lamb. #farming #farmlife #crofting

Monday last week marked 12 years since I moved home to Tiree. It's been quite the journey! I'm having a little look back in the @scotnational.bsky.social today. 👇

ps. Those are my great great grandparents. They watch me from the kitchen wall!

Once upon a time, I wrote a satirical thread about island life. I thought it was time to rehash it. Enjoy! 👇

Rhoda Meek: Islands can be welcoming but not if you come to change, save or patronise
BACK in 2019, I wrote a satirical thread on Twitter. It sailed a little close to the wind in places, and I ended up having to phone my parents to…

I was just about to switch off for the night after what can only be described as a challenging week, when every website we host fell offline. Amazing work, universe.

Some people say that farmers and crofters don’t care. Nothing could be further from the truth... People who don’t care are generally not found asleep in their waterproofs on the kitchen floor, waiting for the next alarm. 👇

March 15, 2025 at 9:21 AM
I thought the moon looked funny last night, but I was too busy crying over what I thought was a dead calf, whilst horribly sleep deprived, to give it a second thought.

Calf is ok. Cow is ok. I've still not slept.

There was no milk in the co-op today, so my dad was forced to purchase what he calls "vegetable milk".

He's not sure which vegetable it is. He's going to try his luck again tomorrow because, "it will do tonight, but it might kill me by Monday."
