Please stop blaming a Korean-American creator for things Japanese fighting game developers choose to do, design or implement. It smacks of looking for something easy to blame, and if you knew the Japanese developer mindset, you’d know that by and large, they don’t give a damn what westerners think.
Core A Gaming's Buffs over Nerfs video has been a plaque on the modern balancing of fighting games and there is no arguing this statement.

so one of my friends was suspended for absolute bullshit reasons and this is highly concerning!

Hot take perhaps, but any future CvS3 should stay somewhat more grounded, because while that would cause the game to be somewhat less dynamic in roster options, it allows for VS games to maintain their own unique identity instead of homogenizing the “Capcom versus” franchise into a single flavor.
