Wait, ye old MSM @NBCNews is now censoring Joe and Mika? For real?

The prosecution rests.

The problem comes with news-gathering, as opposed to analysis. You need to do breaking news, reporters on scene, and you need video (although you can fair use what’s out there) - and that’s where expense comes in.

You also need to gain trust, and that may be hardest of all.

Support independent journalism when you can. There are a lot of very talented people doing excellent work out there.

I wish we could get them all in one place. Would make a great “paper.” An ActBlue for journalism? Is it possible?

Just a reminder for Kent County:

The DICK DEVOS TAX INCREASE is on the back of your ballot. Don’t forget to vote!

BTW, if the video in question is that important, I believe you could fair use an excerpt with credit and link back to original.

If you don’t think “brainwashed” is a loaded and biased term, George Romney would like a word.

I'm on my last legs with the Freep. I do not give a damn about what Mitch Albom thinks about anything, and I'm getting advice columns as headlines on the home page, and why am I paying for this? runs through my head quite a bit.

Money better spent on indie journos.
November 16, 2024 at 9:09 AM
I’d be a harsh editor, but context is everything. If you’re running a piece on “social media reaction,” fine. But to present that comment as a piece of “journalism?” No. Not paying for that.

I’m like the Trump judge with the Freep, one more chance.

Would hazard a guess that Wenceel played more games as a Whitecap than any other. No bobble head or org attention for him though. Keith, Jung, and Jobe this year.

Hmmmm. Now why is that. 🤔
November 16, 2024 at 9:17 AM
Twitter runs ahead of the “high seas” that runs ahead of Dickerson on Audacy. It’s three wins in a row. 😁

Sure would like some games that are blowouts, fellas. Can’t take this stress every day. Go 🐯!
November 16, 2024 at 9:25 AM
Reuters the only one who worked “animals” into headline. The rest of you are normalizing rhetoric that echoes Hitler. How proud you must be.

Particularly disappointed in the @freep. Again. Last nerve. Considering canceling.
November 16, 2024 at 9:25 AM
The word you’re looking for is “racist.”

You’re welcome.
November 16, 2024 at 9:32 AM
Post something here and instant bot attack. 🤮

Why does everything have to suck?
November 16, 2024 at 9:32 AM
Hey Tigers fans - don’t waste your money on the @MLB radio app. They are stepping all over the broadcast with commercials. You’ll never hear the score at inning break. Cut off the wrap-up show yesterday.

@Audacy is MUCH better and it’s free. 3 games in and I’m making the switch.
November 16, 2024 at 9:40 AM
Funny how Sinclair’s @wwmtnews can’t wait to report Bad News for Biden every morning, but hasn’t mentioned Trump’s threat to cut Social Security. It lead at CBS. 🤔

Obvious who they “serve and protect,” and it certainly isn’t us.
November 16, 2024 at 9:40 AM
If you have to pick a network, pick NBC. And this is coming from someone who used to hate NBC.

I don’t know if it’s removing The Toddler or what, but they’ve been much better than the others this time around.
November 16, 2024 at 9:48 AM
“While his own party has been silent, at least officially…”

This. Is. The. GOP.

Instead, we’re in for another round of “let’s blame the voters” while political leadership and their corporate stenographers keep downplaying the threat.

I will be sad when they come for you.
November 16, 2024 at 9:48 AM
The Freep changed the title on that piece, stepping away from the main point to the side show that is the detail about Lincoln.

Why?

There’s your answer.

When people show you who they are, believe them. Stop the fantasy that moderates will save you. Then we can talk.
November 16, 2024 at 10:27 AM
No, @MLive, I will not be disabling DuckDuckGo. If you and others weren’t so obnoxious with the pop-ups, I wouldn’t have needed it in the first place. Also, your new font sucks.

Very sad about the death of print, but I’m really tired of all the hassle placed on the customer.
November 16, 2024 at 10:27 AM
Bird app giving me grief to update or else, and no, I won’t be doing that.

SO, you can catch my inane ramblings in the friendly Blue Sky, where I mostly yell about whatever Sinclair is doing on any given day. Someone has to.

Keeping this active, but gone.

Happy New Year all!
November 16, 2024 at 10:35 AM
Helluva holiday news dump day, Michigan. 😳
November 16, 2024 at 10:35 AM
omg this wind is horrible. Stay inside if you can. 🥶
November 16, 2024 at 10:42 AM
Oh noes! Taylor was visibly upset about a call in the 3rd quarter!

My gawd @CBSNews, just when I think you can’t possibly get any worse…
November 16, 2024 at 10:42 AM
My carrier refuses to pick anything up. Delivered mail to wrong address, twice, left it out w/ note, he let it sit. Forget outgoing mail. Solicited food donation, and then wouldn’t take it. Wants my name on the box, which is not a requirement.

Just creepy. I’m done with them.
November 16, 2024 at 10:50 AM
Remember how I used to advocate for @USPS? No more. World’s worst service this entire year.

FYI: if your printer dies on a click and ship, the PO will NOT print the label for you unless you have the QR code. The receipt they sent did not have it, of course.

UPS next time.

An obvious solution to this is digital shelf tags. Maybe Meijer and take this “extra” chump change (multiplied x265 stores) and invest?
