I keep the cat happy.
Seeing a lot of this too - mixed headlines on protest and celebration.

Do the people celebrating realize that Miller and MAGA would gladly round them up too? Why do they think they're immune?
As Americans took to the streets of Chicago and Washington on Saturday to protest the U.S. military intervention in Venezuela, Venezuelan migrants in New York gathered to celebrate the removal of Nicolás Maduro from power.
Maduro’s Capture Prompts Protests and Celebrations in U.S. Cities
Opponents of the U.S. intervention in Venezuela called it illegal. Supporters celebrated the ouster of Nicolás Maduro, the country’s authoritarian president.

And here's the Freep for Detroit, not paywalled at the moment.

Leading at NBC Chicago.

Nothing at the majors, but if you go to city news sites you see it, and that has been the norm for some time now.

Takes a large protest like No Kings to get national coverage, but chances are your local will cover - and those may carry more weight, being your neighbors.

"Maduro’s capture spurs protest in Grand Rapids"

"A group gathered at Rosa Parks Circle in Grand Rapids chanted their pleas for peace in Venezuela Saturday afternoon after the country’s president Nicolas Maduro was captured."

It was small, but it's currently leading at WOOD. Headlines matter.

"Nobody can stop me." - The real Trump doctrine

(Thanks John Roberts!)
Watch this. Watch again.

"This incredible thing last night... We have to do it again [in other countries]. We can do it again, too. Nobody can stop us."

Everyone is Dan Campbell.

I love the thrill of going for it on 4th down, I really do, but man you gotta take the points there.
January 4, 2026 at 1:22 AM
Oh. Well that changes things. Doesn’t it?
Rodriguez's main messages were that Maduro is still President of Venezuela, and that the government will not yield to the US' attempt to take over its oil resources.

Again, no indication at all that she's collaborating with Washington, which Trump indicated was the case earlier today.

Ds wrapping the latest pollster-approved party talking points in here fails to meet the moment, to say the least.

You look like you're merely trying to score points on this - and NOT address the crime that it is.

Dems are irrelevant because they want to be. No one I know takes them seriously.
The bottom line is that President Trump wants to look tough by attacking countries abroad to distract from his failure to attack the core issue of the cost of living at home.

Here's reporting on Slotkin and Dingell.

(forgot Slotkin was on here, I unfollowed her at some point)

My local NBC/Nexstar never joined. That is pretty wild. Wonder what the justification is behind that.

If I ever see Albin again I’ll ask.

Flipped to CBS. Ed O’Keefe been keeping it real. “Questions have to be answered in the coming days.”

Lol. ABC started talking over him at the end. Had enough babble.

Just flat out admitting we’re taking it for the oil.

I hope the world has something to say about this.

Couldn't consult Congress because of the weather - shorter Rubio. And leakers!- Trump

Uh, no. Doesn't work like that.

There are "boots on the ground" if you parse Trump's rambling bullshit, indicates people are stage with him are running the country.

"Make Venezuela Great Again."

Jesus wept.

I’m not listening to Hegseth. Let me know.

Trump rambling big time, threatening to also occupy America.

When do they start the MAGA draft?

Trump just announces the US will be running Venezuela now, until the can do a "safe, proper, and judicious" transfer of power. Announcing an occupation before you've occupied a country is a new one.
January 3, 2026 at 4:45 PM
We have taken over Venezuela.

Does Venezuela know this?
January 3, 2026 at 4:45 PM
Joe did a better doddering old man, IMO.

"We're going to run the country?"

Really? Just like that, took over another country?

Man does he look and sound like shit.
