Political party Team Mirai wants to replace foreign workers with AI. Their brilliant idea is to replace current white-collar jobs held by Japanese workers and force them to "retrain" to handle work predominantly done by immigrant laborers, such as construction, elderly care, etc.

Headline: AI could replace foreign workers in Japan, Team Mirai says Team Mirai did not identify which specific sectors or industries it thought AI might soon replace foreign workers. But Anno says that, regardless of nationality, the introduction of the latest AI technologies means all working white-collar workers could find themselves out of their current jobs and needing to retrain. “It’s not so much people out in the field, but rather the work of those in office-based jobs — the so-called white-collar positions — that AI finds easier to handle. Jobs that involve gathering information and providing responses are the areas where AI can work most effectively,” Anno said in a campaign video on Team Mirai’s plans to reform the labor force with AI.
