A free and welcoming urban winter trail in downtown Ottawa Ontario Canada
Soon to transition over from wheels to tracks, as we wait for snow. This is our Utility Terrain Vehicle, or UTV. From spreading wood chips, moving equipment and trail infrastructure, or getting volunteers to their work sites; this vehicle empowered us. Thx for your donations.

Continuum Fitness, a returning sponsor of KTrail.

Located a 'Stones Throw' from the trail (310 Beechgrove) in a beautiful facility that one gets the feeling that it is a place of healing.
Check out their website to see there amazing rosters of professionals. You will be in good hands.

The life of a snow groomer is never boring. Whether it is raising money, working with volunteers, politicians, staffers and bureaucrats or fixing fuel leaks; the adventure never ends.
November 21, 2025 at 11:14 PM
Nope. Not for Gooses but capturing and retaining snow.
Without it, the winter winds would keep these exposed areas bare pavement and grass all winter long!
Thanks to our amazing volunteers of Peter Edmison, Ken Wright, Marg Glossop (aka Bear Lady) and others for making this HUGE effort possible.

Thank you Kitchissippi Times for your continued reporting on this story. Just another example of why local community news organizations matter.

Like everything about the winter trail, patience and playing the 'Long Game' is the only strategy one can have.

Chief William Commanda Bridge closes again for the winter
The Chief William Commanda Bridge has closed again for the winter, but the city says it could reopen before the spring if enough snow falls.

Hate to disappoint but we will be in no position to groom tomorrow, regardless how much snow falls over the night. Our goal is to be ready by December 1st. In the meantime, our volunteers are hard at work getting ready. We got a lot to do!

Thank U Algonquin SA (Students' Association) for the invitation to 'Winter For Beginners' event today at Algonquin College.
Not everyone knows how to prepare for winter, but this initiative was all about fixing that and being a resource to students that wanted to learn more.
Think snow!

Winter for Beginners! Joining the @ncc_ccn, along with a ton of other groups, introducing #newcanadians and students on how to prepare for winter and where to go to get outside. @algonquincollege @sa_algonquin

Welcome addition to our equipment inventory! An electric power brusher.
Yes, we partner with the NCC preparing the land for snow. They do 90% of it and we refine it from there. The closer we can cut the grass, the less snow we need.
Just another example of how your donation dollars are spent.

Once again, Westboro Community Association returns to make a donation to the trail to help us with our operating costs. With the new NCC pavilion at Westboro Beach being operational this winter, the western end of the trail is going to be a Happenin' Place and hive activity!

Signs of Winter.
Mowing of the KTrail just finishing up thanks to great efforts by the NCC. We seem to be working with less snow every year and having the trails well mowed allows us to make the most of what little snow we get.
Great example how community groups partnerships really work.
