Today I took part in the weekly Page-Turning Ceremony. This is a new meaningful tradition of remembrance that began in May 2025. Each week, a name is read from the Books of Remembrance commemorating and honouring Members, sons, daughters and servants of the House of Commons.

It was a real pleasure to bring Paul Skivington a Para-jiu-jitsu athlete to parliament.

Alongside his competitive career, Paul teaches children and adults of all ages and abilities, developing his own syllabus to support and empower disabled athletes.

Great to meet with General Aeronautical, to discuss future opportunities in Swindon ✈️

Our conversation focused on Swindon’s role within the M4 defence corridor and how the town’s manufacturing heritage and connectivity could support next-generation aerospace and defence technologies.

First meeting of the year and it was with another drone company!

Sky-drones work in partnership with the police, NHS and UKRI as well as defence so they are valuable company I would love to see in Swindon.

From next year, Penhill will get £2m a year for 10 years — £20m in total — to deliver real, lasting change.

The difference? Local people will decide how it’s spent, not politicians or developers.

A survey is coming soon, but for now, share your ideas below.

Great to visit Great Western Academy just before the Christmas Break. They've done some incredible work from establishing their sixth form to focussing on both student achievement, inclusion and wellbeing. They noted their intention to work toward more sensory facilities for their SEND students.

Proud to support @DefraGovUK’s Animal Welfare Strategy 🐾 — the strongest reforms in a generation, improving the lives of animals at home, on farms and in the wild.

Our laws are finally catching up with the evidence, delivering on our manifesto.

Happy Christmas! Parliament has now risen for the Christmas recess, and I was privileged to attend an event at No.10, a real highlight of the year.

I am certainly looking forward to enjoying some eggnog and a mince pie.
