That time we gave a US tech surveillance company used by ICE, 34 contracts running critical infrastructure including defence and and the NHS. That time they tried to ban the right to peaceful protest, that time they tried to end trial by jury. How far towards authoritarianism are we.

It’s interesting that the brexit influencers are all out slagging off immigrants today because I for one was happier before all the billionaires showed up and money sponged the economy demanding massive government subsidies they then offshored into tax havens.

Britain always follows America, never many steps behind even backsliding Democracy into authoritarianism. Same media, same elites, same gaslighting, lack of transparency and accountability.

The UK and US have sunk to new lows in a global index of corruption, amid a “worrying trend” of democratic institutions being eroded by political donations, cash for access and state targeting of campaigners and journalists.
Experts and businesspeople rated 182 countries based on their perception of corruption levels in the public sector to compile a league table that was bookended by Denmark at the top with the lowest levels of corruption and South Sudan at the bottom. Continue reading...

Expect there will be a few resignations and token appointments and then it’s pretend nothing happened and cover up for the bad guys in the name of stability of stock markets or whatever excuse normalises this nightmare.
