AOC: "Extreme level of wealth inequality leads to social instability and drives authoritarianism, right-wing populism, and really dangerous domestic internal politics. That is a direct outcome of the failure of democracies over decades to deliver."

That time we gave a US tech surveillance company used by ICE, 34 contracts running critical infrastructure including defence and and the NHS. That time they tried to ban the right to peaceful protest, that time they tried to end trial by jury. How far towards authoritarianism are we.

It’s interesting that the brexit influencers are all out slagging off immigrants today because I for one was happier before all the billionaires showed up and money sponged the economy demanding massive government subsidies they then offshored into tax havens.

The government are tightening the rules around dodgy front companies and 'unincorporated associations' donating to politics
Labour bill would stop ‘dodgy front companies’ making political donations
Bill would also give votes to 16-year-olds and pave the way for ‘opt-out’ voter registration

The whole world should be focused on ensuring justice for the survivors. That’s the most important thing right now.

Britain always follows America, never many steps behind even backsliding Democracy into authoritarianism. Same media, same elites, same gaslighting, lack of transparency and accountability.

Expect there will be a few resignations and token appointments and then it’s pretend nothing happened and cover up for the bad guys in the name of stability of stock markets or whatever excuse normalises this nightmare.

Press Empires are no better than any other kind of unaccountable empire. oligarchs bought out the media and some of them got put in the lords.

No wonder corporate media won contract after contract and consolidated power.
February 8, 2026 at 4:41 PM
What kind of incompetent press barons didn’t have this story decades ago?

All we are doing is rotating the spoils system from one privileged faction to another.

They don’t really think women are human like them.

Most importantly smash the boys club. They will always sacrifice women’s interests and basic equality for their male advancement.
