Our little patch of violets spreads a bit each year. Today I decided there were enough that I could pick some to make a bit of violet syrup. Flower petals are so soft and silky smooth.

Today was so chaotic I went for a walk to release some tension. I almost forgot how early spring arrives in my neck of the woods. The robins are abundant and loud, and there are other signs of new life. Like these male cones on a longleaf pine tree.
