Wild Women hosted a wonderful event this past weekend, with a group of us kayaking up Tomales Bay, camping, and spending some amazing time with bioluminescence in the water underneath the Perseid meteor shower.

Visiting the Presidio in San Francisco, where the sculptor Andy Goldsworthy installed his famous "Spire" in 2008.

Partially burned by an arsonist in 2020, this towering sculpture even more powerfully celebrates the rejuvenation of this area and the intertwining of nature and art.

By Lenart Škof

Arguing for a material, elemental, and sensory theology of God. It offers a vision of God that is both feminist and humanist, a divine becoming for humanity, a sacred alliance with Nature.

I saw these wash up on the shore of Muir Beach (just north of San Francisco). They go by many names: sea raft, by-the-wind sailor, purple sail, little sail, or simply Velella. They can't move on their own. Winds and ocean currents sometimes wash them on shore, where they meet their demise.

I spotted a spotted towhee. The "Danger" sign on the stove is very funny, because this little critter is anything but dangerous.

It was great seeing Suzanne Simard at Bioneers in Berkeley. She talked about her ecological work, especially her book, Finding the Mother Tree. She's received so much praise for that book, but also some misunderstanding. She's been called a mystic, a non-scientist, and a dangerous woman.
