Throwback to last year in Salt Wells Creek. Two of wild curly stallion Bobby’s foals: very curly black Tristan and grey sister Isolde who is not a curly. It’s so interesting to me how that happens. #carolwalker #wildhoofbeats #wildhorses

Here’s a throwback to August 2022 with Donata as a very new foal, her beautiful pinto mother Grace and wonderful Looking Glass, the Leopard Appaloosa stallion. I was so excited to see that Looking Glass finally had a foal with spots. #carolwalker #wildhoofbeats #wildhorses

This is the wild stallion Scarface, close enough to see his beautiful blue eye. I first met Scarface as a goofy bachelor in 2013 but now he has a big beautiful family and he is one of the senior stallions in the Salt Wells Creek Herd. #carolwalker #wildhoofbeats #wildhorses

Looking back to February this year, gorgeous grey bachelor stallion Ashwyn greets Looking Glass the Leopard Appaloosa stallion. You can see the healing wound on Looking Glass’ side from when he lost his mare and foal in the fall. #carolwalker #wildhoofbeats #wildhorses

Yesterday I posted a photo of young filly Donata with her mother Grace back in 2022. Donata is now all grown up and here she is with her first foal Connor, who is a blanket Appaloosa like she is, grandson of the Leopard Appaloosa stallion Looking Glass. #carolwalker #wildhoofbeats #wildhorses

One of my all time favorite images, of one my favorite wild horses, taken in 2009 of the wild stallion Washakie running off a rival stallion. I was standing behind my vehicle and he gave me a look as he ran by in McCullough Peaks in Wyoming. #carolwalker #wildhoofbeats #wildhorses

This is Julian, a curly cremello stallion I have known since he was just a little fuzzy foal. He has an unconventional family - two other stallions, a sorrel and a red roan, plus his grey mare, her grey yearling and new palomino foal. #carolwalker #wildhoofbeats #wildhorses

As I was heading back to the main road two weeks ago I suddenly saw a dramatically marked wild pinto stallion and his bachelor friend. I stopped and watched as he ran back and forth in front of me in Arapahoe Creek, Wyoming. Cochise is his name. #carolwalker #wildhoofbeats #wildhorses
