I just learned #IslaNublar, the island in #JurassicPark, is in the Pacific Ocean. This is funny because at the end of the movie, the helicopter is flying toward the setting sun. The sun sets in the West. So... Where is that helicopter going, cuz it's definitely not toward Costa Rica (i.e., Land)!

Can't believe how hard #Foundation botched The Mule.

#Spoilers in the OG books The Mule is a freaky little dude who is ugly and can't have kids so he uses his telepath powers to force the universe to love him. His whole motivation is if no one will choose to love him then he'll make them forever!

Funniest take I've heard all week is @brennanleemulligan.bsky.social calling #HasanPiker the kid trapped in the basement in #Omelas, just suffering for our amusement.

Never thought about the kid being a streamer, does that mean those that walked away are subbed to the kids #twitch?

I too aspire to one day write a book of parables in the guise of a bird negging his bird friends into going on a road trip.
#TheConferenceOfTheBirds is just another reason why #Attar was #Rumi's #GOAT

Wildcard Cameron's review of The Conference of the Birds
5/5: I don't care who you are, this book is a standout example of why Persian lore is super underrated. Is it a collection of parables that range from thinkers to absolutely nonsensical? Absolutely. ...

Reading #TheBigSleep and my weird reader brain just made the craziest connection.

In the book, #Marlowe makes digs at everyone, in all the ways they operate, but especially about how everyone is just a little dumber than they should be (especially silver wig).

Late night #D&D thought too good to leave on Reddit.

#CharacterIdea: Count Erspell, scourge of the mage academy.

Only knows reaction spells like:
* Shield
* Counter Spell (Duh)
* Feather Fall
* Gift of Gab
* Absorb Elements
* Silvery Barbs (cuz why not)

. @ifbookspod.bsky.social I did it! I found the singularity! The original #SelfHelp book to rule them all! The well spring from which all others spawned like copies of copies!

It's #Meditations by #MarcusAurelius!

I'm sorry, but y'all went too easy on this book, just far too easy. I remember when I first read this book I was like "this is just the #4HourWorkWeek written by the lady who did #EatPrayLove" and the fact that wasn't your entry point for this tear down felt like a massive missed opportunity.
Episode 36: You Are A Badass

Do you want to take control of your life? It’s a two-step process: (1) defeat your evil subconscious and (2) go into massive amounts of debt.

Rewatching #TwinPeaks, I can't be the first one who thought this show is definitely in the #Stargate universe right?

Like, Don S. Davis literally says his job is classified. Tell me all the weird psychic magic whatever isn't just some unaccounted for Goa'uld gizmo.

I haven't stopped thinking about this so now y'all are gonna have to think about this with me.

In #OnyxStorm I think @rebeccayarros.bsky.social accidentally introduced the concept of the transatlantic slave trade?!

The actual not spoiler free review review of #Butter is a pretty good if not meandering story of a reporter investigating a murderer.

Actual spoilers below, but solid 6/10 makes for a decently cozy read.
Just finished "#Butter” by #AsakoYuzuki and without spoiling anything I can safely say this book is the most nonsense misdirect I've ever read about a woman who somehow lived 33 years having never tasted food then one day a convicted murderer convinces her maybe don't do that?

Some extremely useful advice from a good friend of mine!
Okay #writingcommunity, here are some querying tips I've accrued since beginning the process! Buckle up.

Note: I am not a pro or agented. Full disclosure, my req rate is 5% in adult fantasy & have gotten lots of positive agent feedback. I've also paid for assistance on my query package.

Best feedback I've ever gotten from an agent on a query letter.

"I don't know if you know this, but everyone is 'very excited' to share their debut novel."

God damn legend! 😅

Me 3 hours earlier waiting with a cup of milk in one hand and a bowl of mashed potatoes in the other: "you better text me, 'love you' back old man!"

As the hero approaches Thebes he is met by the mighty Sphinx.

Sphinx: if you wish to pass you must first answer my riddle.

Hero: I am prepared o fowl creature, what test have you prepared for me?

Sphinx: You must open *reaches behind self* this pickle jar.
