we should have a law that if anyone is indicted by grand jury for election interference they can't run in any elections until it is put to rest. then we'd see trump shift from delaying to rushing tactics

if dems make a deal with gop to promise to hold a vote "later" why can't that be written into the compromise that's being voted on at the time? make it law. a very specific law that applies for a short period of time, but that can be important too.

i think the problem we have is our entire system is obsessed only with can a person in an office do X. we have zero process for determining what is true/fact or not (arguing until it's too late is not a process). if there is a emergency power. declare an emergency. then make something up.

the key to trump is collect TONS of money that are at his/executive branch discretion because directing money is the first step to leveraging whimsical discretion into favors/bribes/coercion both domestic and international.... it doesn't have to be a 1 to 1 return since it's all free

trump CAN/MIGHT do things for america, but only in that it gives him bragging rights. it's important that it sounds good...and so sometimes it might actually be good...but the motivation is to brag about it for politics and more importantly because that's his ego.

i can see why people will have a reflex to adopting gerrymandering in blue states too with "we can't sink to their level". but the practical need can't be ignored. i'd want to see it adopted as part of a "until we have districts made by neutral algorithm nationwide, we will do this too"

when i heard that tariffs are a tax (out of the blue....as the party against taxes do...) and heard him mention national wealth fund (like putin's war chest...) i thought wow...way to get around congress' budget power by having an executive controlled fund.

why can the president (and...the public?) not understand the difference between the end results of a mission, the successful completion of the orders of a mission, and the duty/risk/skill exhibited by the people doing the mission??? how hard are these concepts that we can't separate them?
