Senior SWE, San Diego. I’ve used Python for just about everything except ML so its recent surge in popularity has left me befuddled. Also MCU development in C.
The more I think about it, the more it makes sense that Epstein was basically a Kompromat honeypot being bankrolled by the Russians. Famous men go in, compromising material comes out, and the money and resources keep flowing to good ole Jeff.

Vance on Jan. 8: "You have a federal law enforcement official engaging in federal law enforcement action. That's a federal issue. That guy's protected by absolute immunity."

Vance today: "I didn't say that officers who engaged in wrongdoing would enjoy immunity. That's absurd."

If it’s so easy to get oil out of Venezuela, then why did they resort to *checks notes* TRAFFICKING COCAINE??

You can put paper in the compost, recycling, or trash bins and no one cares. Interestingly, the same is true for batteries.

“Propellerism”: a future-tech prediction that’s naïve, anachronistic, or constrained by present-day metaphors. An assumption that tomorrow’s breakthroughs will look like today’s tech, just more so.

Kelly: He runs around on stage talking about lethality and the warrior ethos.. That’s not the message that should be coming from the Secretary of Defense… He runs around on a stage like he’s a 12 year old playing army. It’s embarrassing.

Ah, yes, Apple, this is much better #liquidglass

Liquid Glass is a clear example of UI designers running out of useful improvements to make. Probably the most embarrassing design from Apple since the end of the skeuomorph era.

What a delightfully unhinged way of couching the President’s threat to corruptly withhold funds from NY if they don’t vote the way he wants! @nytpitchbot.bsky.social

If you have a friend who talks about sports betting in apps for more than a couple months, and hasn’t complained about having their bets limited to very low amounts, you have reason to worry they are losing lots of money. Anyone who knows what they’re doing quickly gets throttled to small bets.

I wonder what Tom Homan did with that $50k bribe he accepted, now knowing that all the bills are tracked. Just chillin in his house? Burned it?

We didn’t know what things were supposed to cost so we got accustomed to subsidized services like Uber and Netflix and have experienced absurd inflation from those prices in the last 10-15 years.

Not enough people are pointing to the fact that ABC is dealing with an affiliate revolt led by Nexstar, with pressure from the FCC, which is also responsible for approving Nexstar’s pending multi-billion dollar merger.
