Also. They changed from “atrocious” to “uncanny” in the opening because who is going to be the mother figure says it and atrocious is very harsh and likely not a realistic perspective from a fellow outsider of “normal” in Oz society

It appears people don’t understand that the musical uses Glinda as levity a LOT. But in movies, you don’t need that as much. So a lot of her funnier lines (notably “innuendo, out-uendo”) are cut because they force you to sit in the moment more and doesn’t give the audience the laugh cop out

I cried probably like 5 times during Wicked cause, yes it was gorgeous. But mostly cause I was mourning the celebration it would have felt like had the election gone a different way. Now it feels like a crystal ball

The attention to Nessa in the movie is really nice. I love how they don’t coddle her and also I love that they frequently put her in white and red to make what we know of her from WoZ make sense
