The Centre recently hosted Urisha Naidoo from the National Institute for Communicable Diseases, in South Africa. During her visit, Urisha trained in laboratory methods for measuring neutralising antibodies against influenza viruses in human sera.

The Centre recently welcomed Dr. ShuJuan Cui from the Chinese Centre for Disease Control and Prevention. During her visit, she primarily spent time with the Genetic Analysis group, where she learned about hMPV whole-genome sequencing from Dr. Xiaomin Dong.

Dr. Michelle Wille from the Centre was recently featured in an ABC 7:30 report to discuss the impacts of avian influenza in Antarctica, and the potential arrival and impacts for Australia.
Wonderful to work with the ABC 7:30 team again this year on a story about the ongoing avian influenza panzootic.

The Centre recently welcomed Brooke and Nina from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM DOH), Phillipines, for a two-week visit (5-16 May). During their visit, they received training for virus isolation, with a focus on influenza and RSV.
