I almost always #write stories that are narrated by a character within the story. Usually framed as them telling the story for a reason. Inspired by the kinds of books I enjoy reading. 💙📚

Back on the editing train for a time. It's not as fun as the writing train, it's slower, and there are more stops. But hey, at the end is a properly finished book. 💙📚

My last book was a supernatural horror story about missing children and occult ritual. My next book is about a cat that attends a writing group on Wednesdays. If I were published, then my readers would be in for some whiplash.

Sometimes I write using the Word app on my mobile phone like some kind of #writing freak. Not just notes, actual manuscript sentences. It doesn't feel right but sometimes it needs to be done. 📚💙

When WW3 eventually happens, NZ isn't going to be safe because it's isolated. It's going to be safe because the POS AI that launched the nukes will have scraped it's map from a reddit post.

Sometimes I think about trad publishing my book, and sometimes I think about self-pub. But other times I think about giving it away some place that only book freaks will find it. 📚💙

Ladies and gentlemen, I have recieved my first query response. A very nice rejection. I am not disheartened at all, it's neither unexpected nor unwelcome and feels like a right of passage more than anything else.

While I #amquerying one completed manuscript I have revisited an old story that I started many years ago but which life got in the way of me finishing.
It needs a little TLC but I'm surprised how good it is. Think I've found my next project.

I went and tried #Twitch for the first time this week (as a viewer, not a streamer). There's a really friendly community of #writers there who stream themselves #writing, which is an inspiring display of confidence.

I missed a personal #writing deadline, to be done with an edit by the end of July. I am hereby amending that deadline to the end of August. This is my final written warning to myself. Fail to comply and we will have to prohibit beer consumption.
