I figured I should do a proper intro for anyone seeing me for the 1st time here:

Hi I'm David! I'm a software engineer in a global consultancy firm currently using Typescript for work.

I started with C++ many years ago, learnt many languages since then, and recently discovered Rust!

Say hi! :D
I might be in the look out for a new mechanical keyboard.

Any recommendations?

I'm back from vacation and back to work.

Hopefully I didn't miss much from the tech world 😂

Haven't been that active here for the past few days as I'm overseas at the moment for a family vacation.

But what's this I'm hearing about Microsoft attempting to use A.I to replace some c++ codebase with Rust?

🤔

Just got the chance to try Bun recently and I'm surprised by its DX

Sometimes I look back at life and at the decisions I have made.

Some were great but some were horrible.

I have learnt to trust my instincts better now. I believe that my instincts are an accumulation of my experiences.

So I'm gonna trust my instinct and build more things in Rust moving forward 😆

I saw a guy sitting alone on his chair,

Typing on his mechanical keyboard,

Writing Rust without any A.I,

And building a serial motor driver like a mad man.

That man is me

😂

So Rust is now part of the core Linux 🤔

All the Rust / #rustlang haters ignoring the context and facts here lol

It's the additional communication bridge/interop between JS and Rust that adds the latency, not the language itself 😂

Also the video's title is so wrong and bait-y

I have a Rust / #rustlang problem.

I seem to want to use it for everything.

Someone please stop me 😂

So Antropic couldn't vibe code their own JavaScript runtime? 🤔

If you're like me where I'm currently exploring #rustlang for robotics stuff,

save yourself the headache and use r2r instead of ros2_rust.

While r2r does have a longer compile time, you don't have to use colcon build and can just rely on cargo 😂

Are you terminal in the IDE or IDE in the terminal?
November 28, 2025 at 12:34 AM
Did I ever mention that I managed to make the motors spin using #rustlang ? 😆

p.s: ignore the messy table

I'm sorry Go....

If you don't even have enums, you're not serious about being a programming language for me
November 20, 2025 at 10:32 PM
As much as I love Rust, I feel that the current ecosystem for it in regards to Robotics (i.e ROS2) needs a lot of improvement.

I have been trying to create a node in #rustlang that uses std_msgs and it's giving me headaches lol

Good video on plus points of #rustlang!

Love the mention of Leptos although I wished that there was more description of error handling (e.g Result)

Still figuring out how to make this motor spin using #rustlang but for now, it's using the default Arduino IDE language 😂

Trying out this new coffee beans that my wife got for me.

Hope she'll be proud of the #rustlang code that I write from it 😂

Wow #rustlang 1.91 is here!

And aarch64-pc-windows-msvc is now tier 1!

I think beauty is when you get a nice balance of both hardware and software
November 1, 2025 at 4:57 AM
I didn't know hardware can be this beautiful ❤️

I advocate for Rust so much that even my colleagues know that it's my favorite language 😂

I was balls deep in software.

Now I'm dipping my toes into hardware lol wish me luck 😂
