I spent an hour or so thinking Bridges of Madison County was too quaint and cliched to be impactful but it broke down my defenses and now I'm touched.

Made some of those flourless banana pancakes and even with half the eggs I'd still describe them as banana omelettes. Very impressed with how they maintained their shape though.

Weirdest book I read this year was Wilde's Picture of Dorian Gray. Worst example of making the villain too cool and the moral message too unappealing (in relation to the behaviour being critiqued) I've encountered.
