A great talking point in the Garden a few years ago, the Ent created in 2013 by local artists. Sadly the Ent did not last a few harsh winters, but was loved by visitors! 🌻 #whickham #gateshead #tyneandwear

Fuchsias look wonderful planted in the ground or in a pot like this magellanica variety. Its dark-green foliage provides the perfect mix of dainty pink and purple pendant-shaped flowers. Dave Peacock often experimented with training the plants to grow up a variety of frames in the Garden! 🌻

Phlox is not everyone’s cup of tea. 👍👎It does have an unmistakable scent though. So distinctive in late summer / early autumn.🌻

How was your #BigButterflyCount? Great sunny weather recently's helped (last year our Count was Zero!). Storm Floris provided an interesting challenge. This beautiful Comma was gripping on tight in the high wind. It’s the only non-blurry photo we could get!😄🦋🌻 @savebutterflies.bsky.social
