That voice that says "push through it"—it didn't originate with us. We inherited it from people who had to work through illness to survive. Survival strategies don't come with expiration dates. They get passed down, internalized. And they might not be true.

The invisible labor of constantly calculating whether we're "sick enough" to justify rest—that math never stops. We're weighing symptoms against optics, measuring discomfort against inconvenience. The calculation itself is the problem, not whatever conclusion we reach.
