It’s a chaotic and complicated political theater of contradictory messaging and reactions right now. Be happy for the Venezuelan people, weary of what the future may bring, and critical of U.S. involvement. It will be interesting to see what happens next globally.

Urban Hiking: Your City is Actually Full of Amazing Trails (Here's How to Find Them) - HBD
Urban hiking isn't just walking around the city. It's about turning your urban environment into trail networks and that satisfaction after a good day hike.

It’s good moment to defend anthropology and the social sciences; it would be a shame if they started dismantling the very programs that help us understand the patterns in history that keep repeating.

Gee wiz, I hope Trump’s idiocy doesn’t knock the U.S. down a notch globally. Its foreign policy has benefited from a generous error tolerance under #complex #interdependence. The current administration appears intent on locating its upper bound.

I iterate that the etymology isn’t to argue for the “correct” use of a word, but for intentionality beyond a speculative picking words out of a hat.

Something very close to Susan Haack’s foundherentism. I don’t hesitate. It all makes perfect sense to me.

Another example of its value, etymology and PIE roots can clarify debates over what Gödel meant by “intuition.” I do not have a full proof; but while his “intuition” is epistemic, the operational role corresponds more to “suppositio” as a positing or placing that enables judgment.

Many Asian feminists work from within traditional roles (teachers, nurses, office workers). This can become leverage for a uniquely prescient activism. Their approach is grounded in lived experience: “This is who I am, meet me where I am.” Comfort in identity serves impact.

I find that I want to talk about my brain bleed, despite voices that say I shouldn’t. I know I’m not at my best and not myself at times, and I feel the need to contextualize that. The problem is it would be hard for others to differentiate between post-bleed weirdness and typically weird me.
