Debut single from my 15-year-old son’s band The Myths is released today. I know I’m his dad, but if this had landed in my inbox from a PR, I’d have been impressed. Give it a listen. open.spotify.com/album/3Pxvnz...

I appreciate there are worse things in the world to be getting bothered about right now, but that new Skunk Anansie single is terrible on so many levels. A real crime against humanity.

One year since Regis and I hosted A Some Bizzare Evening at Centrala in Birmingham. A weird, wonderful and chaotic affair that saw the first public screening of Soft Cell’s Sex Dwarf video since 1982. Stevo was his usual baffling, frustrating, and very funny self and a good night was had by all.

I watched this Prince show when it was first broadcast via a dodgy satellite link back in 1985. It’s one of the greatest live performances, made all the more so by its almost bootleg quality.

The term ‘Art Rock’ first appeared in print the year I was born, which sounds about right.
Just found out Merriam Webster has a time traveler thing where you can see what words entered the English language in the year you were born, I’ve got “death metal” and “lose the plot” which check out

See which words were first recorded in 1983. Or search for other words by the year when they were first used.
