In the run-up to the #Education episode, let's talk about #projectbasedlearning and equity.

One reason Rollingredneck opposes project-based learning in schools is that it's the exact opposite of equity. It gives advantaged kids even more advantages over disadvantaged kids

One of the biggest ways the left can get votes is to start clamping down on teachers who violate the IEPs of #disabled students.

I've had parents tell me, "I'm not trusting the government with #universalhealthcare when the teacher won't follow the IEP" while campaigning for Dems since 2015

One of the weirdest things about being disabled as a kid was how the adults around me, even my parents, took literal years to figure out that #disabled meant #disabled and no amount of calling me lazy or telling me to approach things with a positive attitude would improve my grades

Before the We Roll With It #weightloss episode is posted, RollingRedneck and Sphincter Envy want to make it very clear. Bullying someone for their weight is unacceptable. Food addiction is real and bullying is not helping. Often, it does literally the opposite.

Our next episode is on #weightloss and all the bullshit surrounding food and misinformation.

A good chunk of childhood obesity is the result of health #misinformation put out by food companies

Hi everyone! The fun part about epilepsy is that I forget things. Like passwords!

One reason Rolling Redneck is critical of the American Church is that a lot of church people, including pastors constantly say that the Church should take over government programs #disabled people rely on. 1/

Here's a note from us at @werollwithit.bsky.social for #BlackHistoryMonth because we've seen many #disabled people who have never gotten this memo

Both parties are pretty screwed up when it comes to #disability issues. Elected #Democrats think the current things are fine. Elected #Republicans think every disabled person can be a SuperCrip or that the non-profit sector is more useful than it is.

Soon we'll be uploading an episode about #politics and #disability.

And both conservatives and liberals will be getting roasted.

America's #disability services are designed around sparing the feelings of abled people. If there weren't major drawbacks to things like #Medicaid, abled people would scream "THAT'S NOT FAIR!" like they were in the 4th grade again.

One of the reasons we have problems getting #disabled people and their parents into progressive politics is our education system. Teachers talk a big progressive game when it comes to inclusion but turn into Rush Limbaugh when it's time to accommodate disabled kids. So there's no trust

Housing discrimination is legal based on age if you say your housing development is for the elderly exclusively.

The result is that only a fraction of America's accessible housing stock is available for the disabled.
December 12, 2024 at 11:17 PM
Only 5% of American Housing stock is accessible. Much of which is locked in communities and buildings that only allow people over 50 to live in them.

One of the reasons Rolling Redneck is cynical about disability non-profits is that many of them only want #disabled people's work if it's free. Plenty of room on the paid staff for abled people for some reason.
