Not the clearest or brightest of days for the winter solstice, but there is beauty in the bleakness looking over the Usk valley towards the Black Mountains in the Brecon Beacons National Park. The sun is always trying to poke through.

It’s been cloudy mornings this week so here is another view from Sunday’s beautiful sunrise. This time looking west up the Usk valley from Crickhowell bridge.
