#ReadingFC come out on top in a rollercoaster of a second half.

Went 2-0 up, back to 2-2, back in front again, and held onto the lead for a vital three points!

The title is facetious but boy that wasn't a fun week for #readingfc fans huh?

At least this conversation was fun!

Following on from The Weekly Bobbins’ question, is it time to reconsider the captaincy? But if not Wing, then who?

(if there’s not an obvious answer, that might in itself be revealing…)

In which the Lewis Wing concerns become a Lewis Wing problem

Wing couldn't get close to involving himself in the game in a meaningful way today

Kelvin E had a bad game and still got involved in 4x as many duels

Legs have gone for Wing - needs to be given fewer responsibilities or dropped

There are nights when I'm coaching when no matter what I ask for, every player holds onto the ball for 1 touch too many

That felt like tonight for #readingfc
RATINGS: Yeah... the less said about that the better.

Not much praise to go around from @webberross.bsky.social after a desperately poor #ReadingFC showing at home to Peterborough United.

On Oct 13, I put out a video about how Hunt couldn't consistently get his #readingfc side to create chances in the box

First 3 League games under Leam, 22 shots in the box, increasing every game.

xG 1.8 vs <1.2 in the rest of the season so far.

Some tweaks to Reading's press today, with it being mostly pretty man for man, meaning Doyle was often a little deeper than he has been.

One small issue that Reading can have is the space in between the winger and the full back being a pocket for a ball carrier to turn upfield

Great memories of Michael Olise playing for Reading FC. Shame hé had to drop down to Bayern Munich. Pity thé poor footballer. @webberross.bsky.social

#readingfc PPDA, above 10 and increasing throughout the Hunt era, has been down at 8 or below for both of Leam's first two games - a blistering 7.78 today.

Can see why he wants his players fit because this is some serious intensity, even in the late second half.

RATINGS: Charlie Savage stole the show with an outstanding equaliser today, in an overall mixed #ReadingFC display, but @webberross.bsky.social was also pleased with the performances of Paudie O'Connor and Lewis Wing.
Reading 1-1 Rotherham United: Player Ratings
Ross runs the rule over a very mixed Royals performance, which earned a first league draw of the Leam Richardson era.

A lot of green shoots there. Against a Rotherham team that had conceded 3 goals in their last 6 League One games, Reading produced a good number of shots in the box.

Classic that #readingfc equalized through a long range rocket of course, but this is more repeatable for my money.

I'm not against AI in data use in football, but I don't really want the same guys who run the CCTV running the recruitment room...

I'd be much more impressed if the club put together a team of experienced football recruiting execs with a track record of using established leading data systems
