We are Weald to Waves, creating a nature recovery corridor across Sussex, connecting fragmented landscapes to boost biodiversity, capture carbon, enhance food production, and enrich rural economies.

Led by land managers, we collaborate with councils, gardeners, charities, schools, and communities.
Sussex is fast becoming a hotspot for nature recovery.

There’s a swelling energy to reconnect people and place. Farmers, land managers, communities, and gardeners are all finding pioneering ways to join up habitats, improve soil and water health, future-proof food production and repair ecosystems.

"Could it be that local action succeeds where decades of national policy has failed?"

We’re thrilled that Weald to Waves is featured in Attenborough’s new book Ocean. To be recognised alongside ‪@sussexkelp.bsky.social‬ is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when people come together for nature.

Hedgehogs, once common in gardens, are now vulnerable to extinction. But there’s hope.

We're modelling how they move through fragmented habitats, alongside bats and amphibians. And our new hub, Actions for Nature, will find and track efforts to help.

With all hands on deck, we can bring them back.

We are thrilled to support the Adur River Recovery project. Building a blueprint for large-scale river restoration.
To lead the way in nature recovery, we need to know where we stand.

The Adur River Recovery project is working with farmers and land managers across the catchment to build a blueprint for large-scale landscape restoration.

Understanding its living foundations helps us restore it and guide others.

Across the UK, ponds are bubbling with amphibian activity, but how are frogs, toads, and newts faring in Sussex?

@arc-trust.bsky.social are collecting vital data on amphibians—and they need our help along Weald to Waves.

We've all heard that nature is great for mental health, but research shows that visiting places with high biodiversity is even better!

If you're looking for ways to get outside and support nature recovery, join us for the final few days of volunteering with the #ScrublandSuperheroes project.

Toads commonly emerge at dusk after damp, mild weather, so we expect to start seeing their migration in the next few days.

The #ToadsOnRoads project by Frog Life seeks volunteers to protect toads crossing roads. Join via the link in our bio to help save the future of toads!
