Our team had a strong presence at the 60th Eastern Pain Association (EPA) Annual Meeting. Dr. Lisa Witkin led as EPA President, Dr. Neel Mehta represented as past president, and Dr. Philip Petrou joined as a mentor. It was a joy reconnecting with past colleague, Dr. Daniel Pak, fellows and trainees.

Our CA-2 resident, Dr. Greta Niemela, presented at the 24th ASRA Pain Medicine Meeting in Austin on the first reported successful use of intercostal nerve radiofrequency ablation for slipping rib syndrome pain—co-authored with Drs. Tiffany Lin and Rohan Jotwani. A milestone in advancing pain care!

35 fellows from 9 Latin American countries participated in the OMI MEX Weill Cornell Seminar in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care in Mexico City. Dr. Hugh Hemmings proudly served as the inaugural course director and was joined by three of our faculty as lecturers.

Dr. Julia Scarpa has received a RAPP Award from the Mastercard-Diversity-Mentorship Collaborative at Weill Cornell Medicine. The award supports parent-researchers and funds her work on using wearable neuroimaging to study brain fluid dynamics during surgery and the respective cognitive outcomes.
