#FlowerReport from my family's tree farm. These flowers are growing in the stand that was precommerically thinned about two years ago. The understory is responding nicely to the increased sunlight.

(2/2) In 2008, I knew holly was a problem and that data was needed to demonstrate that it was. I couldn't have imagined that my graduate research, 10 years later, would be used to support the listing. Kudos to everyone across the state who helped make this happen.

Seeing common holly finally on the Washington State Noxious Weed List is very gratifying, especially since it took three years to accomplish this. For my graduate research, I studied holly's distribution in forestland in eastern Grays Harbor County. (1/2)

As a way to cope through the next four years, I decided to build my vinyl collection. I already have Beatles albums that I inherited from my aunt.

Spent the morning picking a Hilltop Baldwin apple tree out in Oakville. Haven't made hard cider from this apple variety yet and am looking forward to testing a batch.

One question I would love an answer to is who throws coins out while they are driving. Usually I find pennies and nickels while running but today I found a half dollar. Did a double take to see it since it blended in with the gravel on the shoulder.
