Admittedly, I was assigning a level of group-think to the whole thing when I skimmed through it originally because of the way that site was when I last used it regularly and that's not fair. I just really like Chicago and have wanted to see Minneapolis for awhile. I'll likely like wherever they pick

I'm sure Dallas IS fine and I'm definitely projecting a bit of "other site bad" into my reading of it. There's just also no shortage of responses like these littered throughout the thread. Obviously they don't speak for everyone. Probably not even most of them. None of these even mention Dallas.

I'm not saying racoome is a saiyan, just that there are definitely aliens in the series that look a lot like humans. it seems more likely he'd be from a planet under frieza's control where they just look like that. requires less explanation than how a human got into the ginyu force

Basically the nostalgia that we can all feel can be separated from politics, spread around a community like the OSRS community, and then the desire to hold onto that nostalgia can be used to point people towards those conservative feelings by entangling fears about politics, society, and the game

I've held this same line of thought for awhile, though I've been reading through Grafton Tanner's books 'Foreverism' and 'The Hours Have Lost Their Clock.' Both are about nostalgia and how it can be employed to play on a feeling that *anyone* can experience, and I feel like that is a missing piece

I'm not sure if this came across as defending CVC or not, so to be clear I am also not stoked about this and am just trying to keep a realistic outlook on what happens from here while jagex floats around in the portfolio of multi-billion dollar equity groups

Its funny to think the CEO would get fired when this all comes from wanting to increase Jagex's value as an asset. Canning Pips over this outrage could signal to future buyers that the juice isn't worth the squeeze, and that probably wouldn't be good for Jagex or players on a long enough timeline
