While out for a Sunday drive I finally visited the long closed railway station at Fermoy in Co. Cork.
While the station building is intact, most of the railway alignment through the town is now roads.

The former Railway Station at Fermoy which closed in 1967. Very little trace of the railway remains in the town with the former trackbed now mostly roads in the town. The station building is largely intact...

The new Woodbrook Station on the @Irishrail DART network opens today. Located between Shankill and Bray it will serve over 2000 new homes in the area already built with another 2000+ to come in the coming years.

Images from Thurles and the Dublin area + LUAS tram system. Also the new mod to the 29000's with a bike space area is featured. 5 seats have been removed in the MT car (293xx) and replaced by 7 tip up seats & bike spaces.
