Looks like what I thought was going to be an art day is turning into a programming day. Anyone else feel more comfortable breaking down tasks like this before touching any code?

Baking window: Has various options and macros for quick baking (more than 3 option dialog) * (X)Final Gen (macro) - (M)Process Meshes - (S)Slice generation (final). - Slice generation not through macro will have option for quick or final. - (N)Bake Navigation. - (P)Light probe placement - (B)Bake Lightmaps - (F)Bake all foliage. New lightmap baking: - Bake with ambient occlusion settings. - Either store pixels or reference textures (bake seems to have _final suffix and not be overwritten by other lightmaps, test this). - Bake with standard settings. - After asset import, merge textures: - New L0 .tga texture with ambient in alpha. - steal the GUID from the .hdr and delete the .hdr asset (should "replace" with no fuss). - New L1 .tga texture with shadowmask in alpha. - Overwrite old L1, keeping guid. - Delete shadowmask. New foliage sampling: - Sampling Optimization: - Keyword output for foliage should output data values in high dynamic ranges (which visually will probably just look white). - In theory, something like GraphicsFormat.R32G32B32A32_UInt should be able to read this data as ints. Test this. - End result should be that foliage sampling only ever needs to do one pass, hopefully giving a -66% speed reduction. - Resampling: - If sampling optimization works, we can also store these value as ints in the Foliage Data. - We can also use ints in the Structured Buffer, decoding the ints at shader time. - Is the cost of decoding the data in the shader > the cost of storing more values? Perhaps this should be benchmarked. - In this process, we should also get a new value for the ambient term. Foliage tool / Artisan improvements: - Better number typing for values / opacity. - Eraser sphere that removes in a radius. - Fix issue with grass painting on slope. etc..

Foliage tool mostly done now that it can sample colors from the ground.

Considering this is rendering 94,048 meshes and no work done optimizing yet, performance is good.

One thing that sucks is getting ground color is a slow baking process...

Foliage tool, WIP part 4. Density is now working. Foliage will be less dense the lower the underlying opacity is, to gradually fade from full to empty.
