A short story is never so good as it is when it pops into to your head
It’s an excuse to read Dave Barry’s masterpiece on colonoscopies. We used to pass that around at the cancer center.

It's a brief but fun discussion about a very funny book.

I still have my first edition of Star Wars! (I was not impressed when I read it, but kept it after the movie came out.)

I just added my name to the dictionary. What I want is a document specific dictionary. My aliens’ name for that story only.

I just am waiting for their member recommended reading page. If they don’t open it before my next renewal. I won’t renew.

Lots off fun! Do read blackout/all clear and also read The Doomsday Book, also hinted at in firewatch. We discussed it in the Hugo’s There podcast on pandemic fiction. Three award winning book seeds in a short story!

Okay finished the issue. The Willis piece was the best, and the Silverberg piece was good, but strangely dated. The rest ranged from interesting to forgettable. Much like issues of any SF magazine out today....

Man, this is fun reading. George Scithers was my agent for several (unsuccessful) years, and I had forgotten how much fun Asimov's could be. Still reading but the Silverberg piece is definitely worth discussing, as is the Asimov piece, both retro in a quirky way... still reading....

I sneezed and popped a cracked rib once. It felt like a weasel was loose in my chest! Coughing, sneezing and laughing could cause enough pain to make my knees buckle! Hang in there! It will heal, albeit slowly!

I am down with a chest cold, and the #cats are rallying to my side
