Totally different dug this excellent, hallucinatory novel about Cortes and Moctezuma. @riverheadbooks.bsky.social

We're starting to worry Tennessee Republicans might try and redraw our maps to steal Nashville's seat

Loved her novel The Wall. This short book from 1958, available for the first time in English, punches way above its weight. So damn good. @ndbooks.bsky.social

Sci-fi, fantasy, metaphysical treatise…and according to Octavio Paz…the perfect novel. @nyrb-imprints.bsky.social

A blurb for Elsa Morante, described her novel as being Sebaldian (even though she was dead before he even published anything). So of course, had to go and read WG Sebald. What a quiet, beautiful devastating novel. @ndbooks.bsky.social

Born on this date: Caught Miles on this tour in 1988 in San Francisco…not everyone’s favorite era but I dig it. Back in the day, it was pretty damn exciting to come out of a record store with a new Miles Davis album.

Morante! Less plot driven than her novels Lies & Sorcery and History: A Novel but just as devastating and beautifully written. Like the blurb on the back says, “touching and bleak.” @openletterbooks.bsky.social

This cat led a life. Committed leftist, merchant marine, reporter (went to Biafra) and wrote an article for Esquire that inspired the creation of the Peace Corps. Absolutely knocked out by this collection of short stories. @nyrb-imprints.bsky.social
