Sometimes, life requires us to set aside our personal goals to care for the people we love most. Right now, my focus is on taking care of my father, which means putting my work, workouts, and personal plans on hold.

Not the best start to the year—Tatay’s been hospitalized, and I’m focused on taking care of him right now. Workouts will have to wait, but I’m reminding myself that this isn’t a setback. Fitness will always be there, and I’ll come back stronger when the time is right.

Every time I go to the hospital, I can’t help but get emotional. It brings back all the memories of my sister’s three-year battle with cancer. Those years were filled with so much pain, hope, and love. She fought so hard, and I’ll always carry her strength and courage with me.
