Chaney Jr & Costello promo shot for 1948's A&C Meet Frankenstein. Emile LaVigne had taken over spfx makeup duties from Jack Pierce. Lou himself would sit in the monster makeup chair five years later for A&C Meet Dr Jekyll ... or at least some of the time, when his stuntman wasn't sitting in for him.

Always curious who made the decision to include a nekkid wolfed out Lon Jr on the '41 poster. Did FX artist Jack Pierce think it was hilarious, or worry he'd have to build that for the sequel? He did start to lay yak hair further down the chest in future sequels ...
