This article/comment is nicely conceptualized, well written and much needed. I hope it will be heavily distributed/shared. Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy treatment works because each contributor has something to offer. There is a space for everyone and everyone needs to stay in their space.

Addiction behavior is an indirect solution to underlying problems. As such the underlying problems remain unresolved maintaining the motivation for addictive behavior. The addictive behavior must be addressed before the underlying problems can be addressed. Not the other way around.
