Rural white farmers voted overwhelmingly for Donald Trump as attested to on the @60minutes.bsky.social segment. Destroyed many family farms his first term with an unnecessary trade war. And is doing the same in his second term. In addition, he’s giving 40B dollars to their competitor, Argentina.

Just like “economic anxiety” Democrats have gone down another rabbit hole. This time it’s the “affordability” rabbit hole. Certainly affordability was part of the political environment that helped Democrats, the terrain was supercharged with culture war enhancements provided by Donald Trump.

In the @60minutes.bsky.social segment dealing with struggling farmers in Tennessee and Missouri, the question of why farmers voted for Donald Trump was oddly overlooked. After noting the economic struggles and the skyrocketing suicide rates, @60minutes.bsky.social did not ask the question “why”.
